Fred. Olsen Travel completed a skill survey back in 2016 which identified various skill gaps that as an organisation we were committed to filling. Staff development and talent retention are very important to us as an organisation as we pride ourselves on our customer service and the relationships that our customer’s build up with our team. I wanted to find a learning and training organisation who could work with us, with a similar approach and ethos. I wanted to find a provider who would share our approach to valuing our customers and providing a bespoke service. It was not only important to me that the training provider would share our values and ethos, but I wanted to find one company who could provide a variety of training programmes.
I had been speaking to Leonard at Adapt for about 12 months, and the timing was now right. Through regular contact with Leonard, I had a good idea of the scope of Adapt’s training and learning areas, and their pricing structure, so I felt comfortable discussing our needs. I liked the fact that Adapt was a local company and I felt that we could work well together well.
When I discuss our requirements, Leonard really listened to what I needed: he didn’t try to just sell me an off-the-shelf course but tailored content to meet our needs. The result has been a bespoke training package that matches our skill gaps.
The service from Adapt has been outstanding. Not only does Leonard listen to our needs, but he goes the extra mile to provide a flexible service whether that is moving dates of training sessions to suit our business needs, or adjusting content. Responses to queries are always timely, and regular contact means I am always kept informed and up to date, which is vital in my role.
Trainers have been selected to suit our demographics and industry, which has encouraged fantastic feedback from the participants. The method of training delivery means they have been able to make changes in their day to day roles immediately, responding well to the interactive and responsive style which has been related directly to their individual roles, needs and environments.
The trainers were not only aware of the needs of the participants but through the use of real-life examples and situations during the sessions, have been able to pick up potential further training needs and skill gaps in the wider team. Leonard has been able to work with the trainers to propose bespoke training solutions and further development opportunities which have been of great assistance to me.
I like working with Adapt due to the trust and relationship that has been established through Adapt’s ability to understand our needs. I feel valued and appreciated as a client, and believe that we are working in partnership to develop the team at Fred. Olsen. I am already discussing further programmes with Leonard and look forward to working together in the future.
